Teacher Aide Collective Agreement 2020

The basic school collective agreement 2019 will be implemented during salary period 08 (July 15). Employees are automatically passed on to this collective agreement at the new rates. They will also receive compensation until December 11, 2019 and schools have already received funding for this increase in their operational appropriations in March. In the absence of the measures prescribed by the school, the teaching assistant will follow the salary stages of the B-C matrix for the 12th month of employment. The success of the Teacher Aide Pay Equity Settlement has brought about positive changes that pay tribute to the efforts of teachers in the education sector. School boards and principals have played an important role in implementing this fantastic change, and we commend you for your efforts and support as we manage these changes in collaboration with the ministry and the NZEI. The Ministry of Education has issued an operational guideline for boards of directors, school principals, school administrators and teacher assistants, which can be accessed here. The employer subsidy rate of the public pension fund will automatically increase from 14.4% to 14.9% from the first reference period after July 1, 2020 (salary period 08 – salary of July 15). The contribution rate for employees/members remains unchanged at 6.5%. MoE acknowledged that many schools may not have taken these costs into account in planning camps that took place prior to the closure of Level 4 of COVID-19. As a result, the MOE reimburses your school, as a transitional scheme, the payment fees of your assistance staff for the hours of accommodation in the camps visited from December 2019 to the end of semester 2 2020.

From that date, each school will have to cover these costs when planning future camps and accommodation trips. 3A.8.2 Notwithstanding section 3A.8.1 above, teachers are: who, on the occasion of the anniversary, have spent at least twelve months at the maximum level of the level B-C work matrix of level 5 up to level 6, unless the employer believes that the role of teaching assistant remains exclusively in class B of work matrix and has informed the assistant at least two months before the teacher`s deadline. The amendments came into effect in December 2019 with the collective agreements. For more details on PUMs around New Zealand, please go to: campaigns.nzei.org.nz/pay-equity/teacher-aide-PUMs/#list – Rates will be implemented in March 2020 due to the complex changes to the payslip that will be required. Salary compensation calculations from the most recent collective agreements have now been completed and there are additional leave pay and redundancy adjustments to be paid for some of these employees. These payments are a charge for your school`s resources and are made during pay period 07 (payday June 30). The agreements are as follows: an error occurred in the PUMS message sent last week. For the record, co-ordinator roles are not part of the teacher-help pay equity requirement, they are covered by the administrative staff pay equity application, which is currently in the process of studying the pay equity process.
